Biography
Pushi (born Santiago Alvarez in 1998, in Montevideo, Uruguay) built his profile in the early 2020s with melodic Latin-pop and cumbia-leaning singles, including âSoltarteâ (2021) and a run of 2022 songs showcased with videos such as âCon el Alcohol,â âLa Bachata,â and âFin de Semana Sin Ti.â In 2023 he widened his audience through collaborations, notably linking up with fellow Uruguayan hitmaker The La Planta on âThe La Planta: Pushi Terraza Sessions #3.â The next year he kept momentum with singles like âTattoo,â âMorena,â and âA PRUEBA DE BALASâ (all 2024), then leaned further into romantic cumbia and crossover features in 2025, turning out tracks including âVolvÃ,â âEl Pirata,â âComo Queda,â âNo Te Da O Que,â and âNo Me Enseñaste.â Late 2025 he capped that run with âASIGNATURA PENDIENTEâ with Juanjo Morgade, while also appearing on multi-artist cumbia projects and guest cuts alongside names from the RÃo de la Plata scene.
