Biography

Pugh Rogefeldt, born Anders Sture Torbjörn Rogefeldt on March 2, 1947, in Västerås, Sweden, was a Swedish singer. He started his musical career singing in a church choir and playing with blues bands. In the late 1960s, he signed with Metronome Records and released his debut single "Haru vart på cirkus" in 1968. His first album Ja, Dä ä Dä was released in 1969 and won a Swedish Grammy. Throughout the 1970s, Rogefeldt released several albums, including Bamalama, Face, and Hollywood. He participated in the Melodifestivalen in 1978 with "Nattmara" but did not advance to the Eurovision Song Contest. In the mid-1980s, he reunited with his band Rainrock. Rogefeldt continued to release albums, including Pugh Maraton in 1986 and Vinn Hjärta Vinn in 2008, which reached Number 20 of the Swedish charts. He passed away on May 1, 2023.
