Biography
Prototypes, formed in Paris in 2003 by bassist and synthesiser player Stéphane Bodin, vocalist Isabelle Le Doussal, and guitarist François Marche, emerged from the earlier group Bosco and the performances of BuBBle Star. Their breakthrough came with the single "Danse Sur La Merde" in March 2004, followed by "Gentleman" in August 2005, establishing their indieârock sound. The group released Tout Le Monde Cherche Quelque Chose En Plus A Faire in March 2004 under Barclay Records, then Mutants Médiatiques in January 2005 through Boxson, AZ and Universal, and their selfâtitled album Prototypes in 2006, which combined tracks from the first two releases for the U.S. market. In 2008, Synthétique was issued in France, Canada and the United States, expanding their presence on the international stage. Prototypes toured extensively across France, Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States and Japan, and performed at festivals such as SXSW, Popkomm and FrancoFolies de Montréal. The band remained active until 2008, after which they disbanded, leaving a legacy of four studio albums and several commercially used tracks.
