Biography
Lovingly dubbed as China's "first plus-sized boy band," Produce Pandas were assembled by DMDF Entertainment in 2020. In order to fight against the aesthetic stereotypes dictated by the idol industry, label Simply Joy Music auditioned nearly 300 plus-sized candidates from all backgrounds, out of which 5 were finally selected to undergo intensive training. DING, Otter, Husky, Mr. 17, and Cass made their debut in 2020 with the single "The Great Dream" before their first studio album A.S.I.A. hit the shelves later that year. After two of its members competed on the reality show Youth with You, Produce Pandas returned in 2021 with their first EP Stand Up, followed closely by a second full-length titled Emoäº. "Best of You," their first single of 2022, entered the Top 50 of Hong Kong's Mandarin Singles chart at Number 24.
