Biography

Prince Ndedi Eyango, born on April 27, 1960, in Cameroon, is a prominent singer known for his contributions to African music. He began his musical journey singing in his father's church choir and later joined the group Black Styl’s after moving to Douala in 1977. In 1983, Eyango released his debut album Nweringa while living in Paris. His breakthrough came with the release of "You Must Calculer" in 1987, which won multiple awards including Best Song and Album of the Year in Cameroon. Subsequent albums like Soul Botingo (1989) and Les Problèmes and Nkongsamba (1991) solidified his status as a leading artist. Eyango's career also includes notable collaborations, such as producing artists through his label Preya Music, and organizing cultural events like the Ebomba Festival and N’Samba Land. He has been recognized with awards including the Channel 2'Or Music Award for Best Male Artist in 2012.
