Biography
The first TV talent show to be broadcast in France in 2001 on M6, Popstars became a phenomenon on a par with Loft Story. The first winner was the group L5, who also enjoyed tremendous success. In 2002 and 2003, the groups Whatfor and Linkup were not so lucky, and the show's concept faltered in the face of competition from Nouvelle Star and Star Académy. Re-launched in 2007, Popstars this time featured a solo artist in the person of Sheryfa Luna. In 2013, D8 bought the concept and broadcast a fifth season from May 28.
