Pocahaunted, an American psychedelic drone project, was formed in Los Angeles, California, in 2006 by Amanda Brown and Bethany Cosentino. The duo began their musical journey without a specific concept, releasing their first EP, What the Spirit Tells Me, in 2006. Over the next few years, Pocahaunted released numerous albums and EPs, including Moccasing (2006), A Tear for Every Grain of Sand (2007), and Chains (2008). Their music evolved from atmospheric drone sounds to more structured compositions with traditional song structures. The group collaborated with Orphan Fairytale, Christina Carter, and Tovah Olson on various albums, including"Pocahaunted / Orphan Fairytale" (2008). Other notable albums include Gold Minder's Daughters (2009) and Make It Real (2010). In 2009, Cosentino left the band to pursue studies in New York, leading to a temporary hiatus. Pocahaunted reformed with new members but disbanded in August 2010.
