Biography
Photon Band, an American indie rock group from Philadelphia, was formed in 1994 with Art DiFuria as the sole constant member. The band's first single, "Sitting on the Sunn", released in 1994, showcased DiFuria playing all instruments and featured a blend of psychedelia and country. In 1996, Photon Band signed with Darla Records, releasing the three-song CD single "747 (Donât Worry)". The band's first full-length album, All Young in the Soul, was released in 1998 on Darla Records. In 2001, DiFuria moved to Newark, Delaware for his PhD program, leading to a hiatus from live performances and the departure of drummer Simon Nagle. The band's subsequent releases, including Alone on the Moon (2001) and Itâs a Lonely Planet (2003), were solo efforts by DiFuria. In 2007, Photon Band returned with the EP Get Down Here in the Stratosphere, followed by the full-length album Back Down to Earth in 2008.
