Biography

Author, composer, performer, arranger and producer, Phil Control hails from Trinité in Martinique. Although he started out playing drums and percussion, he went on to successfully launch his zouk love career with EPs such as Chimin l'Anmou and Parfum l'Anmou in 1988, and Sa Fe Mwen Mal in 1990, which enabled him to attract a wider audience and serenely approach the release of his first album, Fé Mwen Rêvé! in 1991, quickly followed by a second, Anti Câlin, the same year. In 1995, the album J'Ai Besoin de Vous was released, consolidating his place on the zouk love scene with tracks such as "En nou profité", "Téléphone mwen" and, of course, "Assé ramé" and the title track, "J'ai besoin de vous". Four years later, in 1999, a first compilation entitled L'Essentiel enriched his discography, which was to include many more chapters in subsequent years, with opuses such as Bad Boy in 2015 and Souviens-Toi (Tendrement Love) in 2017.
