Pernice Brothers is an American indie rock ensemble from Boston established in 1998. The group consists of the musicians Joe Pernice, Thom Monahan, James Walbourne, Patrick Berkery, Peyton Pinkerton, Laura Stein, José Ayerve, Michael Deming, Bob Pernice, and Ric Menck. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized by intelligent lyrics and for being founded by Joe Pernice following the dissolution of the ensemble Scud Mountain Boys. Their recording career began with the debut studio recording Overcome by Happiness (1998) released on the label Sub Pop. Pernice Brothers achieved professional recognition for the studio recording The World Won't End (2001) released on the label Ashmont Records. Their discography included the studio recording Yours, Mine and Ours (2003) and the live recording Nobody's Watching/Nobody's Listening (2005). The ensemble achieved professional recognition for the studio recording Discover a Lovelier You (2005) and the studio recording Live a Little (2006). Their recording career included the studio recording Goodbye, Killer (2010). Pernice Brothers achieved professional recognition for the song âChicken Wireâ (1998) being named Number 1 Most Exquisitely Sad Song in the Whole World by AOL Music in May 2007.
