Peejay, born Bak Jeongcheol on March 11, 1980, in Busan, Republic of Korea, is a South Korean musician and record producer. He began his career as a rapper with the group Rhymebus under Buda Sound in 2007, concurrently working as a composer. In 2009, Peejay won the composition category on the audition program SUTASHI. Transitioning to music production, he collaborated with various artists including Beenzino, BIGBANG, and 2NE1. In 2010, Peejay released "The Combination" as part of the Mind Combined project with producer Jinbo. He established his own label, Walkin' Records, in 2015, debuting with the album WALKIN` Vol.1. The following year, he joined Teddy's label THEBLACKLABEL, under YG Entertainment. Peejay is recognized for his versatility as a composer, working across hip-hop and K-pop genres, while his solo albums showcase a neo-soul style. The single "On To Victory," released on September 3, 2025, entered Melon's Top 500 Melon domestic chart at rank 33 the day after its release.
