Paul Dwayne, born Paul Després on February 27, 1964, was a Canadian singer-songwriter known for his contributions to Acadian country music. He began performing locally as a teenager and competed in the 1992 Bud Country Talent Search, finishing second behind Sheila Deck. His debut album Mon petit chenou was released in 1998 and earned him nominations for Country Artist of the Year and Country Album of the Year at the 1999 FrancoFête. Dwayne released seven albums between 1998 and 2011, including Ensemble pour toujours (2000) and Ma p'tite guitare (2003). He received an East Coast Music Award nomination for Francophone Artist of the Year in 2001. Dwayne continued to perform at music festivals in Atlantic Canada throughout the 2010s, with his final performance being a private show at a wedding. Paul Dwayne passed away on August 26, 2024, at the age of 60.
