Paul Baillargeon, born in 1943 in Montreal, Quebec, is a Canadian composer. He started his career in the early 1960s, accompanying artists like Pauline Julien and Pierre Létourneau on tour. His breakthrough came with orchestrations for several Quebecois albums, notably composing "Donne-moi le temps" (1967) and "Tu es le même" (1968) for Renée Claude, and collaborating with Jean-Pierre Ferland on the album Soleil in 1971. Baillargeon also composed music for Nicole Rieu between 1976 and 1979, including "Il aurait voulu voir la mer" (1976) and "La table" (1977). His work extended to film scores such as Viens mon amour in 1970 and television series like Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Baillargeon also notably composed "Une colombe" for Céline Dion, presented to Pope John Paul II during his 1984 visit to Montreal. In 2007, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Francophone SOCAN Awards in Montreal.
