Panicsville, a Chicago-based noise group, was founded in 1992 by Andy Ortmann along with David Forquer and Ryan Kohler. The group initially gained attention for its unconventional performances, which included pelting the audience with items such as dry ice, meat, blood, and insects. They were also known for their violent but playful audience interactions, often involving strange black latex outfits and shrieking high-pitched noises. Their debut album, Floccinaucinihilipification, was released in 1996. Over the years, Panicsville has released numerous albums, including The Last Compulsory Exercise (1997), and Evil? (1998). The group's lineup has varied over time, with Jeremy Fisher and Andy Ortmann being the only permanent members. Notable collaborations include work with filmmaker Usama Alshaibi and musicians from Cock E.S.P., and Thymme Jones from Cheer Accident.
