Biography

Pablo Maximiliano Miguel Coronel Vidoz—known professionally as Pablo Ruiz or Pablito Ruiz—was born on May 4, 1975, in Buenos Aires and began his artistic journey at age eight under the name Pablo Coronel as part of the children's television program Festilindo (1983–1986). He signed with EMI in 1986 and released his debut solo album Pablo Ruiz in 1987, earning gold and platinum certifications and the Prensario Artist Revelation award for hits like “Mi Chica Ideal” and “Sol de Verano.” His 1988 album Un ángel catapulted him to international stardom, featuring “Oh Mamá, Ella Me Ha Besado,” “Orgullosa Nena,” and “Cachetada,” gaining double platinum status in Argentina, quadruple platinum in Chile, platinum in Mexico, and earning him the Prensario Artist of the Year award and the Silver Torch at Viña del Mar in 1989. He followed with Océano in 1989—featuring tracks like “Océano,” “Hawái,” and “La Malagueña”—and Espejos azules in 1990, as he navigated vocal changes during adolescence. After a brief hiatus, he returned with Irresistible in 1992, produced by Gian Pietro Felisatti, and continued releasing albums throughout the 1990s, culminating in Aire in 1997 under Sony Music. Later career efforts include Renacer (2010), Aquí... (2013), Tu nombre (2017), Déjate llevar (2018), Rayo de Luz una Señal de Amor (2023), and the single “Nunca me faltes” with Antonio Ríos in December 2024.
