Oxford Camerata is an English chamber choir based in Oxford, England, founded in 1984 by conductor Jeremy Summerly and singers David Hurley and Henrietta Cowling. The ensemble, consisting of a core membership of fifteen singers, gave its first performance on May 22, 1984. Known for performing primarily unaccompanied repertoire, Oxford Camerata also collaborated with the Oxford Camerata Instrumental Ensemble and the Oxford Camerata Baroque Orchestra. The choir gained recognition through recordings released by Naxos Records in the 1990s and 2000s, including Palestrina: Missa Papae Marcelli, Missa Aeterna Christi Munera (April 1992). Notable albums include Lamentations (May 1992), Byrd: Mass for Four Voices, Mass for Five Voices, Infelix ego (July 1992), and Medieval Carols (October 1993). The choir's repertoire included works by Fauré, Hildegard von Bingen, and other composers.
