Biography

Omar Naber, born on July 7, 1981, in Ljubljana, SR Slovenia, then part of SFR Yugoslavia, is a Slovenian singer, songwriter, and guitar player. He began his musical journey at the age of 16, joining Veter, a mixed choir of Ljubljana high schools. In 1999, he founded a rock band and gained national recognition after winning Bitka talentov, the Slovenian version of Battle of the Talents in late 2004. Naber's first single "Vse kar si želiš" was released in 2004, later included in his debut album Omar (2005). He represented Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "Stop," which he co-wrote with Urša Vlašič. Although he did not qualify for the final, finishing 12th with 69 points, Naber continued to release albums including Kareem in 2007 and Na glavo in 2014. He returned to Eurovision in 2017 with "On My Way," again failing to reach the final.
