Olga Marie Mikalsen, born on January 9, 1915, in Langevåg, Norway, was a Norwegian singer. At age 40, she was encouraged to pursue singing seriously after being heard by a member of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. She made her debut at 53 in 1968 and gained an audience by the 1980s with her distinctive agogic singing style. Mikalsen's celebrity status rose nationally with her interpretation of "Hooray for You Who Have Your Birthday" in a commercial. She appeared on the 1994 CD single They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Ha-aa credited to Brothers Featuring Olga-Marie Mikalsen. A live CD of her recordings was released posthumously on January 9, 2015. Olga Marie Mikalsen died on January 23, 2006, in Valenciana, Spain.
