Okis, a rapper from Lyon with an assertive boom bap style, started writing at the age of 17, but didn't get serious until 2020, when he was offered a microphone for his birthday. A former journalist, he took advantage of a period of unemployment in 2022 to release his first EP, OK, followed by Rappeur de Lyon. His writing, imbued with references to Lyon and Olympique Lyonnais, attracted the attention of beatmaker Mani Deïz, with whom he produced his first album in 2023, Rêve d'un rouilleur, alongside Cassus Belli and Limsa d'Aulnay. True to his no-frills rap style, he followed this up in 2025 with La Crème, confirming his musical identity with raw, unsung tracks. His lyrics blend Lyonnais slang and soccer nostalgia, all set to classic instrumentals.
