Biography
Obliteration, a death metal band from Kolbotn, Norway, was formed in 2001. Their early years saw them performing local shows and releasing their first EP, Total Fucking Obliteration, in 2005, which featured Apollyon of Aura Noir as a guest vocalist. They later signed with Tyrant Syndicate, a subsidiary of Peaceville Records, to release their debut album Perpetual Decay in 2007. The band then went on tour with Ramesses across the United Kingdom. Their second album, Nekropsalms, was released in 2009 under Fysisk Format and marked by tours through the USA and UK, as well as appearances at major festivals like the Maryland Death Fest and Hole in the Sky. The band won the 2018 Spellemannprisen for Best Metal Album with Cenotaph Obscure and was previously nominated in the same category for Black Death Horizon in 2013.
