Nino & The Ebb Tides are a doo-wop vocal group formed in 1956 in the Bronx, New York. Their early breakthrough came when they met talent scout Murray Jacobs in 1957, leading to their first recording "Franny Franny", credited to "The Ebb Tides." This track was widely played by Alan Freed and marked the beginning of their musical journey.
Later releases were on Jacobs' newly formed Recorte Records before transitioning to Madison Records. One of their notable recordings, "Juke Box Saturday Night", a cover of a Glenn Miller tune, charted on Billboard's Top 100, reaching number 57 on September 4, 1961. The group was managed by Ralph Fusco, also from the Bronx. Their other significant release includes the 7" single Juke Box Saturday Night / (Someday) I'll Fall In Love. The group's music was characterized by its smooth harmonies and catchy melodies, which resonated with audiences of the time. Throughout their career, Nino & The Ebb Tides performed at various venues in New York City, gaining a local following and contributing to the vibrant doo-wop scene of the 1950s and early 1960s.
