Biography

Saturnino Manfredi, known as Nino Manfredi, was an Italian actor, singer, and director born on March 22, 1921, in Castro dei Volsci, Italy. He began his career initially gaining popularity through his work in theater, radio, and television. His music career saw the release of the single "Roma nun fa' la stupida stasera" / "Ballata di Rugantino" in 1963. Manfredi released several notable albums including Trastevere (1971), Nino Manfredi (1972), and Tanto pe' cantà (1976). He also achieved significant musical success with his 1970 cover of Ettore Petrolini's classic song "Tanto pe' cantà", which reached number 3 in the Italian hit parade. Manfredi's acting and directing career was equally prolific, earning him numerous awards including six David di Donatello and six Nastro d'Argento prizes. He passed away on June 4, 2004, in Rome.
