Biography

Nick Pride & The Pimptones are a British funk, jazz, and soul band from Newcastle upon Tyne that formed in 2007. The ensemble was founded by the guitarist Nick Pride and are famous for their deep funk-dance sound and for their "Live-Band Bootleg" recordings. They achieved professional recognition in 2009 after releasing the single âDeeper Pimpâ, which received extensive radio play across Europe. Their discography includes the debut studio recording Itâs the Pimptones (2009), followed by Midnight Feast of Jazz (2011) and Re-juiced Phat Shake (2014). In 2016, they released the studio recording Go Deep through the label LÃ©gÃ¨re Recordings. The group has performed at international festivals including the Imagina Funk Festival (2015) in Spain and the Novara Jazz Festival (2012) in Italy.
