Nicholas Edwards, born July 31, 1992 in Hillsboro, Oregon, is an American singer who established his career in Japan. After learning Japanese at fourteen and visiting the country in 2008, Nicholas Edwards moved to Tokyo in 2010 to pursue music. He first appeared on television in June 2011 on Nodojiman The World, becoming the only performer to win the competition twice and to appear on every broadcast. In 2013 he signed with Warner Music Japan and released his debut single “F Ga Uta Ni Naru” on July 31, followed by the double mini-album Skies on October 6, which combined original tracks and traditional Japanese covers; the title track was later used in a Masuda-juku commercial. Nicholas Edwards followed with the Japanese-version album GO EAST on November 30, 2016, and Freeze, released in 2016. A mini-CD Tears was issued in 2019, and his most recent single “how it goes” was released in 2025. Throughout his career, Nicholas Edwards has maintained a steady presence in the J-pop scene, collaborating with local artists and touring across Japan, while receiving recognition for his bilingual performances and contributions to Japanese pop culture.
