Biography
Matt Johnson and Kim Schifino, formed the Brooklynâbased duo Matt & Kim in 2004, with Matt Johnson on vocals and keyboards and Kim Schifino on drums. The pair first released the EP To/From in 2005, followed by the selfâtitled album Matt & Kim in 2006 on IHEARTCOMIX, establishing a DIY presence. In 2008 the duo signed with Fader Label and released Grand in 2009; its single "Daylight" achieved RIAA gold status and was featured in multiple commercials and television programs. Subsequent albums-Sidewalks (2010), Lightning (2012), New Glow (2015), and Almost Everyday (2018)-were issued on Fader and Harvest, with Sidewalks reaching number 30 on the Billboard 200. Matt & Kim toured extensively, performing at festivals such as Bonnaroo, Coachella, and Lollapalooza, and collaborated with artists including Mark Hoppus and Travis Hawley. In 2021 the duo released the cover EP Be Kind Rewind and singles "RARARA" and "Everyone Sucks But You" featuring K.Flay. Their 2023 project under the moniker PG14 introduced a synthâgarageâpunk sound, culminating in the EP YES PLEASE.
