Biography

Serbian-born violin prodigy Nemanja Radulović was born in Niš on October 18, 1985. He trained at the conservatories of Belgrade and Saarbrücken (Germany), before blossoming in France with master Patrice Fontanarosa. Radulović made a promising debut, winning first prize at the Hanover Competition, and in 2005 won his first Victoire de la Musique in the "international revelation" category. His first recital, Pièces pour Violon Seul, was published the following year. The spirited soloist confirmed his reputation with Mendelssohn's Violin Concertos (2008) and the virtuoso collection Les Trilles du Diable (2009). In 2011, Les 5 Saisons pairs Vivaldi's famous concertos Les Quatre Saisons with the world premiere of Spring in Japan by young Serbian composer Aleksandar Sedlar. The must-have recital Après Un Rêve (2013), with harpist Marielle Nordmann, is followed by his first album for the Deutsche Grammophon label, Paganini Fantasy (2013) and a program of fifteen Slavonic pieces, Carnets de Voyage (2014), also named Journey East in its international version. Meanwhile, Nemanja Radulovic wins his second Victoire de la musique classique in the "instrumental soloist" category. In 2016, he published a volume devoted to Bach with his favorite ensembles: Double Sens and Les Trilles du Diable, before giving his own version of Beethoven's famous Violin Concerto, Op. 61 in 2017. The album Baïka, which follows in 2018, brings together Slavonic works by Khatchatourian and Rimsky-Korsakov. Like the great stars of classical music, Nemanja Radulović's Roots (2022), a potpourri of Slavic and Latin pieces, including popular melodies rooted in his youthful memories, is much appreciated by the uninitiated public.
