Biography
Nekrogoblikon formed in 2006 in Santa Barbara, California, and was an American melodic death metal group noted for its goblin-themed concept. The bandâs first release, the album Goblin Island (2006), introduced the character John Goblikon, later portrayed by Dave Rispoli, and set the foundation for the groupâs theatrical style. Subsequent albums followed chronologically: Stench (2011), the EP Power (2013), Heavy Meta (2015), Welcome to Bonkers (2018), and The Fundamental Slimes and Humours (2022). Notable singles included "The Skin Thief" (2018), "Chop Suey!" (2020), and "Bones" (2022). The group toured extensively, performing at Download Festival, Rock am Ring, and Kerrang! Tour, and collaborated with director Brandon Dermer on multiple music videos. In 2023, lead vocalist Nicky Calonne departed, and John Goblikon and Dickie Allen assumed vocal duties. The band remained active, with its goblin mythology continuing to influence its live shows and releases. In 2026, Nekrogoblikon released the EP The Boiling Sea.
