Biography

Natalie Prass is an American singer-songwriter who was born in 1986 in Cleveland, Ohio, and raised in Virginia Beach. She began writing music in the first grade and later attended the Berklee College of Music and Middle Tennessee State University. Prass achieved an early career breakthrough as a keyboardist for Jenny Lewis' touring band after submitting an audition video recorded on her mobile phone. Her debut eponymous studio album, Natalie Prass, was released (2015) through Spacebomb Records and received critical acclaim, earning a “Best New Music” designation from Pitchfork. The recording, produced by her childhood friend Matthew E. White, was noted for its orchestrated pop and soul influences. Her discography includes the live EP Side by Side (2015) and her second studio album, The Future and the Past (2018), the latter featuring the single “Short Court Style” (2018). She has appeared on the television program Later... with Jools Holland and supported Kacey Musgraves on tour in 2018.
