Nancy Dumais, born on December 22, 1964, in Dolbeau, Quebec, Canada, is a Quebec singer-songwriter. She gained early inspiration from artists like Diane Tell, Francine Raymond, and Laurence Jalbert. In 1992, Dumais performed at the Festival du Bleuet de Mistassini, her initial public appearance. Her breakthrough came with Parler aux anges, released in 1997 under Polygram. The album featured five top 10 hits and earned six nominations at the Gala de l'ADISQ, including "Chanson Populaire de l'année" for "Soudés à Jamais" and "Parler aux Anges", as well as "Interprète féminine de l'année." Following this success, Dumais embarked on extensive tours. Her second album, Le Nombril, was released in 2001 and received critical acclaim. In 2003, she launched her third self-titled album under the label Octant. Throughout her career, Dumais has collaborated with various artists, including Alain Simard, Luce Dufault, Véronic Dicaire, and Catherine Durand.
