Biography

Nahko Bear is an American musician and lead vocalist of Nahko and Medicine for the People born in the United States in 1986. Bear learned to play the piano at age six and the guitar at 14. The band was established in 2008 after Bear worked as a busker. Their debut album, On the Verge (2012), was followed by Dark as Night (2013), which included the single “Wash It Away” (2014). Their recordings include HOKA (2016), Take Your Power Back (2020), beautiful trouble (2021), and TRENCHES (2023). Bear released the solo album My Name Is Bear (2017). Nahko and Medicine for the People toured with artists such as Nattali Rize, Michael Franti, and SOJA, and performed at the Greenbelt Festival and ARISE Music Festival.
