Nadie was a Hispano-Chilean pop band formed in Santiago in 1986 after siblings Isolina âSoliâ Arbulú, LucÃa âShiaâ Arbulú and Francisco âChachiâ Arbulú moved from Madrid to Chile; its original line-up featured Soli Arbulú on vocals, Shia Arbulú on vocals and keyboards, Chachi Arbulú on guitar and vocals, Armando Figueroa on bass, and José Domingo âChumaâ Cañas on drums. The group first appeared publicly on the Canal 13 program âÃxitoâ and soon came under the management of Carlos Fonseca before signing with EMI Odeon. In 1987, Nadie released its only studio album, Ausencia, a synth-pop and new wave record that included âAusencia,â âMiénteme,â âCreo que te quiero,â âLa moda mataâ and âEstoy loca.â The same period also produced âBailando,â a cover of Alaska y los Pegamoides, and âNo me arrepiento,â later added to reissues of Ausencia. Radio exposure led Nadie to perform at the Festival de Viña del Mar in 1988, but the band dissolved soon afterward when the Arbulú family returned to Spain. Shia Arbulú later became part of the early formation of La Ley. Nadie reunited for selected projects in the 2010s, appearing at La Cumbre del Rock: Las Voces de los â80 in 2013, re-recording âAusenciaâ for the film El derechazo, and releasing new material with Fuimos ángeles in 2015. They followed with âCaprichoso corazónâ in 2017, then reworked âAusenciaâ for Dominga Sotomayorâs film Tarde para morir joven and recorded âBrigada de negroâ for the 2019 Jorge González tribute Esta es para hacerte feliz. Nadie has remained inactive since that later reunion period.
