Biography

Mono, a Japanese instrumental rock band formed in Tokyo in 1999, consists of guitarist Takaakira Goto, guitarist Hideki Suematsu, bassist Tamaki Kunishi, and drummer Yasunori Takada. The group debuted with EP Hey, You in 2000, followed by studio album Under the Pipal Tree in 2001 on Tzadik Records. They released One Step More and You Die (2002) and Walking Cloud and Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered and the Sun Shined (2004) under Human Highway. Subsequent albums—You Are There (2006), Hymn to the Immortal Wind (2009), featuring single "Follow the Map" (2009), For My Parents (2012), The Last Dawn / Rays of Darkness (2014), Requiem for Hell (2016), Nowhere Now Here (2019), Pilgrimage of the Soul (2021), and OATH (2024)—were released through Temporary Residence Limited, collaborating with Pelican and World's End Girlfriend.
