Monita Angelica Maharani Tahalea, born on July 21, 1987 in Jakarta, Indonesia, is a pop, folk, and jazz singer. She began her singing career after finishing fourth on Indonesian Idol season 2. Following this breakthrough, Monita released her debut album, Dream, Hope & Faith, produced by Indonesian Idol judge Indra Lesmana in 2010. In August 2013, she released an EP titled Songs of Praise with her band The Nightingales. Her second album, Dandelion, was released in December 2015 and produced with Gerald Situmorang. Monita's third album, Dari Balik Jendela, was released in March 2020 and was produced by Indra Perkasa. This album earned her two nominations at the Anugerah Musik Indonesia 2020 for Best Alternative Singer and Best Album Cover, winning the latter category.
