Monika Reneé Hoffman, also known as Monika Hoffman, was born on March 11, 1982, in Malmö, Sweden, and is a SwedishâHungarian singer and songwriter. She began playing violin at age three, later mastering piano and saxophone, and studied at Berklee College of Music, where she received a World Tour Scholarship and performed with Michael Brecker and Charlie Hayden. Her breakthrough came in 2005 when she entered the Hungarian Megasztar competition, finishing ninth but gaining national popularity. She released the pop album Ãn vagyok a nÅ, followed by the jazz record Monika Hoffman and the Scandinavian Knights, featuring pianist Róbert Lakatos. She competed in the Hungarian preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest twice, performing "Légy te az elsÅ" in 2008 and "Hullócsillag" in 2013. In 2017, she released the album Let's Run Away, collaborating with Paquito D'Rivera.
