Biography
Hailing from Benin City in Nigeria's Endo State, Harrison Ekunwe aka Monaky made his debut on music platforms in 2021 with the track "The Goat", followed a few months later by "The Suitor", on behalf of the TKM Entertainment label, distributed by 65Nation. Gifted with a baritone voice, this Fela Kuti and Burna Boy fan continued in 2022 with the double single "Clock In / Green Speech" and collaborated with PaBrymo on "Reason", before the release in 2023 of his debut album Patient Zero, featuring PaBrymo on "Championship" and PsychoYP on "Payroll". The album is immediately noticed by afrobeats fans, who push other tracks onto the platforms. In 2024, Monaky unveils the track "Passport", first single from the album Candor, featuring collaborations with Dessy Carter, Rhedi, Morrelo and Llona, as well as the hit "Chandelier", which reaches number 44 on the US afrobeats charts.
