Mollie O'Brien, born October 25, 1952, in Wheeling, West Virginia, is an American singer known for her work in bluegrass, R&B, and folk music. She began singing at a young age and learned to play piano by eleven. O'Brien's early career included studying voice and theater in college. In 1981, she met guitarist Rich Moore and formed the R&B band, The Late Show. Her breakthrough came with her brother Tim O'Brien, a Grammy-winning artist, as they released several albums together, including Take Me Back (1988). In 1996, she released her solo album Tell It True, which reached Number 10 on Gavin's Americana chart for six weeks. Her subsequent albums include Big Red Sun (1998) and Things I Gave Away (2000), both critically acclaimed.
