Biography

Miss Derringer, an American musical group from Los Angeles, was formed in 2004 and fronted by singer Elizabeth McGrath and her husband/songwriter Morgan Slade, with Sylvain de Muizon on bass, Cody James on drums, and Ben Shields on lead guitar. Influenced by the vintage sounds of outlaw country and early 1960s girl group pop, Miss Derringer released their debut album King James, Crown Royal & A Colt 45 in 2004 through Sympathy for the Record Industry. The band's second album, Lullabies (2006), was co-produced by Derek O'Brien and featured Clem Burke from Blondie. The band's song "Black Tears" (2007) was featured on the television show How I Met Your Mother. Miss Derringer has also notably opened for acts like Bad Religion, Blondie, John Doe, IAMX, and Tiger Army.
