Biography
Mirjam Nastasi is a Dutch flautist, musicologist, and university rector. She studied flute and musicology in Utrecht and later continued her studies in Freiburg under Aurèle Nicolet and Hans Heinrich Eggebrecht. Nastasi initially focused on contemporary music as a member of the Mobiel Ensemble Nederland and in collaboration with pianist Geoffrey Madge, later expanding to early music and the transverse flute through collaborations with artists such as Frans Vester, Frans Brüggen, Bob van Asperen, and Michael Schneider. She participated in numerous festivals and gave masterclasses across Europe. She held teaching positions at the Royal Academy of Music in The Hague, the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, and the University of Mainz, and from 1991 served as Professor of Flute and Methodology at the Freiburg University of Music, where she was also rector from 1996 to 2006.
