Biography

Mircan Kaya, born in 1964 in Artvin, Turkey, is a Turkish singer and songwriter. She began her musical journey at an early age, taking guitar lessons after moving to Istanbul with her family. In 2004, Mircan Kaya released her debut album Bizim Ninniler (Our Lullabies), while her sophomore album titled Kül (Ashes) was released in 2005. The following year, she founded UCM Productions and released the album Sâlâ. In 2008, Mircan Kaya collaborated with the avant-jazz group Limbo on her album Numinosum, and released Once Upon a Time in Mingrelia (OUTIM), featuring lyrics in various minority languages. She composed the score for the 2010 drama film White as Snow. For her contributions to the film, she received the Best Film Music award at both the Forty-Seventh Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival and the Forty-Fourth SİYAD Awards.
