Biography
Miguel Caló, born October 28, 1907, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was a singer and musician. He began his career playing violin and bandoneón, joining notable orchestras from 1926 onwards. In 1934, he formed an orchestra influenced by Osvaldo Fresedo and Juan Carlos Di Sarli, featuring pianist Miguel Nijensohn and singer Carlos Dante. Notable recordings include "Milonga porteña" and "Amarguras". Caló collaborated with various musicians, including Raúl Berón and Alberto Morel. In 1942, he recorded "Al compás del corazón", achieving significant success. He passed away on May 24, 1972, leaving behind compositions such as "Todo es mentira" and "Mi gaucha". His work has been recognized through compilations like Grandes del tango 16 (2007) and Tango Popular (2006).
