Martine Johnson, known professionally as Mia Martina, and born on January 14, 1984, in Saint-Ignace, New Brunswick, Canada, is a singer-songwriter. She began her music career while studying at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. Her breakthrough came with the cover of "Stereo Love" by Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina, which reached number 10 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 in November 2010 and earned a platinum certification. This success was followed by the release of her debut album Devotion in 2011. Notable singles from this album include "Latin Moon" and "Burning", for which she received a SOCAN Award in 2014. Her second album, Mia Martina, was also released in 2014. After a few years of silence, she returned with âSooner or Laterâ featuring Kent Jones in 2017 and released the album Daydream (2019), then continued with scattered singles through the early 2020s, including âWhat I Wantâ (2020) and âWithout Youâ (2021).
