Biography
Hailing from Rillieux-la-Pape in the suburbs of Lyon, Rhône (France), Menace Santana cultivates secrecy around his identity, which he hides behind a mask, echoing the dark drill he distills with a linear flow, in the wake of rappers such as 1pliké 140, Frenetik and Ashe 22. Adding gloves, a tracksuit and a white weapon to his kit, he emerged on the French-speaking scene in 2020 with a dozen catchy freestyle tracks on the project Freestyle Covid (Part 1), which was quickly followed by a sequel, logically entitled Freestyle Covid (Part 2). In 2021, Menace Santana consolidated his burgeoning reputation with the album ! which reached No. 26 on its release. A new opus, Into the Dark, followed at the end of the following year. In 2024, the rapper continued the series of albums begun four years earlier with Freestyle Covid Part III, featuring ten tracks, including "Maracuja " and "Adrenalean" . The album reached number four in the French album charts.
