Biography

Me & My Friends are a British band from Leeds, renowned for their musical fusion, blending Afrobeat and other African rhythms with folk, jazz, reggae and soul. Formed in the early 2010s, the band comprises Nick Rasle (vocals, guitar), Emma Coleman (cello), Sam Murray (clarinet), James Grunwell (bass) and Fred Harper (drums, percussion). After a debut album, Beneath a Level Head, released in 2012 on the Split Shift label, the band devoted themselves to performing while Hide Your Way was released on Soundway Records in 2016. Returning to the studio to record Look Up (2018), the musicians followed up with Before I Saw the Sea (2022) and Bring Summer (2025), which reached number 33 in the UK folk charts.
