Biography

Kava Kava, a British rock band and live dance act from Huddersfield, England, was formed in 1993. The group initially featured Pat Fulgoni on vocals, keyboards, and brass, Jason Riley on bass, Mathew Bond on guitar, and Chris Sykes on drums and began as a four-piece psychedelic funk outfit with heavy George Clinton influences. Kava Kava's early career saw them performing at underground festivals and parties in the UK, eventually signing to Delerium Records. Their album You Can Live Here was released in 1995, described by NME as "gorgeous new psychedelic funk." The band expanded into a six-piece and released Maui in 2004 on Chocolate Fireguard Records. Kava Kava toured extensively across the United States, China, Europe, and performed at major festivals such as Glastonbury Festival and SXSW Festival.
