Biography
Singer, songwriter, musician, producer and arranger Max de Castro â born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on November 17, 1974 â is the son of the late Brazilian singer Wilson Simonal and the brother of vocalist Wilson Simoninha. Max de Castro came to prominence in 1992 as a member of the band Confraria before he branched out as an arranger and/or producer for artists like João Marcello Bôscoli, Patricia Marx, Thalma de Freitas, and others. Max de Castro wrote, played, arranged and produced Samba Raro, his 2000 debut solo release. The album was a critical and commercial success. Max de Castro spent the next year producing tracks for artists such as Tom Zé, Kid Abelha, Paula Lima, and many others. He released his sophomore album, Orchestra Klaxon, in 2002, and he became an international star. Max de Castro released his self-titled third album in 2005, which earned him the Artist of the Year Award from the APCA. His fourth solo album, Balanço das Horas, was released in 2006 to critical acclaim. However, Max de Castro put his solo career on hold and pursued other projects including producing his brotherâs 2008 album, Melhour as well as arranging and producing other artists and projects.
