Biography

Born in the Queens district of New York on October 21, 1971, Ronald Maurice Bean alias Mathematics and also DJ Allah Mathematics is a close associate of the Wu-Tang Clan collective, of which he has been DJ and producer since the early 2000s. In addition to his work on the group's albums, Mathematics is pursuing his own career with the albums Love, Hell or Right (2003), followed by The Problem (2005) and Soul of a Man (2006), divided into two parts, Soul of a Man, Part 1 and Soul of a Man, Part 2, released separately on the independent Nature Sounds label. After the compilation Wu-Tang Clan & Friends: Unreleased, featuring previously unreleased material by the group and its members, he followed it up in 2010 with Return of the Wu & Friends. In 2013, he followed up The Problem with the album The Answer, from which he extracted an instrumental version. It's an opportunity to reunite with Clan members Raekwon, GZA, Method Man, Cappadonna, Masta Killa, Ghostface Killah and even the late Ol' Dirty Bastard, in a posthumous duet. Mathematics also collaborates with a large number of artists to whom he lends his DJ or producer touch, including Wu-Tang galaxy affiliates Wu-Syndicate, The Pillage, Beneath the Surface, Tical 2000, Uncontrolled Substance, The W, Supreme Clientele, Iron Flag, Digital Bullet, Legend of the Liquid Sword, Tera Iz Him, Northstar, No Said Date and the Wu-Tang Meets the Indie Culture project. After producing Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues in 2017, he took part in the Black Samson, the Bastard Snowman (2025) project, with the nine members of the group, released exclusively for Record Store Day.
