FU-Schnickens is an American hip-hop trio from Brooklyn, New York, composed of Chip Fu (Roderick Roachford), Moc Fu (Joe Jones), and Pac Fu (Lennox Maturine). The group formed in 1988 and gained initial attention after performing at a hip hop event at Howard University, a performance that led to their signing with Jive Records. Their debut single, "Ring the Alarm", entered the top ten on the Billboard Hot Rap Tracks chart in 1992, sparking anticipation for their debut album F.U.-Don't Take It Personal. The album reached the top 20 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and was certified gold by the RIAA. Notable tracks from this album include "La Schmoove" featuring Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest, and "True Fu-Schnick". In 1993, FU-Schnickens began work on their second album but released a single collaboration with NBA star Shaquille O'Neal titled "What's Up Doc? (Can We Rock)", which became a top-40 hit. Their second album Nervous Breakdown was released in 1994 and featured the track "Breakdown". The group performed at the finale of The Arsenio Hall Show alongside notable artists such as KRS-One, Wu-Tang Clan, and A Tribe Called Quest. FU-Schnickens disbanded in 1995 before the release of their compilation album Greatest Hits.
