Mary McCreary is an American singer, composer, and pianist. In 1961 at age ten, she performed "Run Little Donkey Run" with the Limeliters, a folk group. In the early 1970s, she was part of Little Sister, known for hits like "You're the One (Part 1)," "Somebody's Watching You," and "Stanga." McCreary later became a part of the duo Leon & Mary Russell, releasing the hit single "Rainbow in Your Eyes" in 1976. She signed with Shelter Records in 1973, debuting with Butterflies In Heaven. Notable songs from this album include "My Soul Is Satisfied," and "Evil Woman." Her second album, Jezebel, was released in 1974. McCreary's powerful vocals were highlighted in reviews. She contributed backing vocals to Tina Turnerâs Rough (1977) and had her song "Singin' the Blues" covered by Eric Clapton on his album There's One in Every Crowd.
