Biography

A Franco-Belgian soprano, Marianne Croux studied opera singing at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where she obtained a Master's degree. In residence at the Académie de l'Opéra de Paris for two years, she won the Queen Elisabeth Competition of Belgium in 2018 and began an international career on European stages, alongside chamber music concerts. In addition to the traditional lyrical repertoire, the soprano is also active in the contemporary field, working with composers such as Besty Jolas, Gilbert Amy and Damien Lehman. Always keen to rediscover forgotten repertoire, she has taken part in several previously unreleased recordings: the complete Twelve Songs of Bilitis by composer Rita Strohl, with Anne Bertin-Hugault in 2022; the role of Eunoé and the first siren in Ariane by Jules Massenet with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra Munich conducted by Laurent Campellone (2023); Poulenc's Stabat Mater and Litanies à la Vierge noire with Ensemble Aedes and Les Siècles conducted by Mathieu Romano and Louis-Noël Bestion de Camboulas (2023); the 1800s melodies recital Pasticcio with Cyrille Dubois, Ensemble Hexaméron and Luca Montebugnoli. In 2025, she will take part in the complete collection Les Mélodies de Bizet, with Cyrille Dubois, Coline Dutilleul and Guilherm Worms.
