Biography

Solstice are a long-running British progressive rock band renowned for their fusion of neo-prog, folk, and symphonic elements. Formed in 1980 in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, UK, the band was co-founded by guitarist Andy Glass and violinist Marc Elton. Early in their career, they gained prominence with performances at iconic venues like the Marquee Club and major festivals such as Reading and Glastonbury. After disbanding in 1985, Andy Glass pursued a career as a session musician and sound engineer, notably working with artists like Bill Withers and Jethro Tull. However, his passion for Solstice led to the band's reformation in 2007 with a refreshed lineup. Over the decades, Solstice have released several critically acclaimed albums, including Silent Dance (1984), New Life (1993), Spirit (2010), Prophecy (2013), Sia (2020), and Light Up (2022). Their eighth studio album, Clann, was released in April 2025, completing the Sia Trilogy and receiving widespread acclaim within the progressive rock community.
